I'll give this run 3-4 months. It will probably go back to hiatus before Summer next year.

Good to see it return though.

Any chance we will get some another season of the MadHouse Anime, once there is enough content for a whole arc(or OVA like they did with Black Lagoon) or has that ship sailed?

I honestly just dont understand why Togashi doesnt just make HxH monthly instead of forcing himself to do it weekly. Is it just because it wouldnt be a good fit as a monthly title or what?

Some people will legitimately will have on/off body pains for years. However, I am thinking that Togashi is using that has been using that as an excuse lately for the hiatuses. He could always talk with Shueisha to make HxH a monthly web manga.

Even as a popular mangaka it could still be a possibility that he got pressured by the editorial and it is always far more lucrative for the whole magazine if the chapters get released on weekly basis.

I for myself really looking forward to it because the current arc has a good suspence curve and feels like some older intense arcs back to the roots before the whole chimera arc begun.

I've read that the Dark Continent arc is supposed to be longer than Chimera Ant, which was the longest so far and it covered about half of the 2011 anime.

Even if he would work in a monthly magazine, he probably would still take breaks. Yes, working monthly is less intensed than weekly, but he still would have to work for the whole month to release one chapter, which has much less content than four-to-five chapters released within the same timespan. And it is pretty obvious that for the last three years, he takes a lot of preparation for his chapters and that he didn't did them in single weeks. The art of chapter 344, particularly the scene with the Dark Continent bordered on Berserk-level of detail; even with assistents, he probably wouldn't have done that within one week.

Spreading several chapters within a year, let's say one to two 19-page chapters would take too much effort than doing a bunch of chapters in one go.

Quoting a fan:
Quote:
"Togashi's modus operandi is to finish a lot of rough sheets for chapters (so basically, chapter action boards, dialogue so on) and then, in one go, polish a lot of chapters in one go.
Straining yourself over a short period of time is a lot easier than doing it constantly."

That sounds logical.

Speaking of polishing, he does polish his new volumes from time to time. And while his current artwork in WSJ isn't as bad as those from many years ago, if he still polishes them, it makes sense why some of the latest volumes took so long to be released despite having the right amount of chapters to fill them.

This hiatus isn't as long as the recent ones. Remember 2015?

It won’t be from Madhouse (because, you know, they hate sequels), but if Togashi manages to finish the arc it could be animated in some form.

5 chapters and then it’ll go back on hiatus. Bet on it.

I think his editor said recently that Togashi makes 10 chapters throughout the entire year and this releases them all at once to get 1 full volume a year.

Togashi should stop pretending that this Hunter X Hunter is gonna happen. I'm glad that he started the series and carried it this far, but please pass it on.

An anime won't come back anytime soon for Hunter x Hunter looking at Togashi's track record. Togashi has to be CONSISTENTLY releasing Hunter x Hunter chapters at least for two for any consideration of an anime return.

1 1/2 months. Almost makes me want to go back and read through the whole thing again.
