I hope those are gonna be brand new specials and nothing like a summary or just regular double episodes.

Here's hoping FUNiroll actually streams them, they have been good with getting One Piece's recent specials since 3D2Y but they never did get the 3 crossover specials from when Toriko was still airing.

EDIT: Ah, my mistake, it was FUNi who didn't have them but Crunchyroll has the first two specials through their own deal with Toei, just not the special with DBZ.

Hmm Id rather if the DBS specials would just be 2 eps at once instead of an original story but if its something good then Ill never say no to that

To be fair, no one was missing much there. "Hey fans of two hyper-popular franchises, we really really really want you to watch this other thing! Please? ...no? Well how about if we try it again...still no? Welp." Honestly a straight-up DB/OP special might actually be fun without Toriko acting as a sad third wheel.

Why is sometimes when CR streams such episodes, they have them as 2 separate episodes?

I'll give you the first two but the third with DBZ actually had some nicely-animated scenes in there and for some reason, it never got on DVD in Japan like the first two did.

In the case of Toriko/One Piece, it's probably because they were split that way in 2 parts when they aired on each show's respective time slots in Japan. If you also noticed, the second half of them have their own unique openings with One Piece songs like the first half of them do with Toriko so it's not the same as the usual specials we see for One Piece & others.

What's with all the speculation about what the specials will be? Did none of you read the article?

Quote:
Each one-hour special will feature two episodes of the television series.

That's all, it's just two regular episodes shown together. The One Piece special will probably be spoiler[Luffy versus Sanji], the timing is about right.
