10 episodes seems very short if it's a manga adaptation.
But being on Netflix, it could easily get a second season.

Is it gonna adapt the manga from the start?

Not sure about it, but the promo picture show demons from the manga, and the trailer has some manga scenes (the trailer itself is not really clear), so I guess they can adapt 1 volume in 2 episodes.

My stages of reaction.

Devilman - "Yes?"

Anime - "YES!"

Netflix - "Oh no.. no... no... not again!!!"

Watched Trailer - "Oh thank god, its not all CGI. Hope still lives in this world of ours."

Needless to say, Netflix needs more of this. And not that infuriatingly bad CGI Cyborg 009 series. Some CG stuff is fine (Sidonia, Blame!), but its been like nearly every Netflix exclusive anime had to be CGI.

Well I do like the pop art inspried look, i don't know if it suits Devilman. Now I know Apocalypse isn't the most well liked Devilman Anime, but the art style they used suited it well.

The art style kind of reminds me of Shin Sekai Yori, which is a very good thing seeing how beautiful it was artistically.

So, for those of us who are curious, why is "crybaby" in the title again?

Roxas as the Akira. Nice. Ayumu prospering with being #2. The trailer looked very good, but we'll see in the actual how.

I don't know the Devilman manga isn't that long and moves at a pretty breakneck pace. They could cover a lot.

Not sure but the main character Akira Fudo could be considered a cry baby. The best is the live action movie where he spends a lot of time running around crying and screaming.

Yuasa seemed to imply, if not outright state, when this was announced, that they would be adapting the whole thing, so I guess we'll see what that ends up looking like.

I actually an really interested to see how this ends up visually. It could work, possibly.

Looks exactly like what I expected from Yuasa. A little worried about the episode count, but Devilman's not a super long manga so....

The character design from the trailer don't seem that impressive to me. But hey it's Devilman which i would still watch even if the production team of Beavis & Butthead did the anime Laughing

On a side note, Kouki Uchiyama (Banagher Links from Gundam Unicorn) seems to be a better fit for the role. But i guess this is not the same Devilman from the Cyborg 009 vs Devilman OVAs.

I really don't like the visuals or Ryo's design in the slightest, but I'm still looking forward to it anyway. I wonder if the episodes will be standard length, or longer....
