Too bad that since it is a Noitamina show us N.A. fans might not be able to legally stream it. Damn you Amazon.

What? Noitamina shows have streamed just fine. Erased and Kabenari earlier this year....

Also, reading the description for this elsewhere makes this show sound like something that might be a little painful to watch.

Well I really enjoy reading the manga though I expect alot of hate for this series since people usually don't care for series like this.

Normally I'm not into high school romance shows but something tells me I should give this a chance. It's probably the premise since I want to know what the secret is.

They are talking about Noitamina shows since the Amazon deal. Which excludes Erased. Fune wo Amu was supposed to be on Amazon for NA fans this season, and it's not.

Funny enough, this is exactly the reason why my expectations went down a lot. If you look at Gakkou Gurashi from an adaptation viewpoint - he did an awful job. It may have been alright for an anime-only watcher, but if you know the manga, he did some aweful decisions about it. The order was completely fu**ed, some important moments and character developments were thrown out of the window and the show couldn't even remotely come close to the atmosphere of its source.. Knowing that he also directed White Album II does give me a glimmer of hope that he knows what to do with a romance-drama, but that's something to be seen.

I wonder how far into the story they will get with this anime. I've read some discussion on the manga...and don't really like where the story went (due to spoiler[a teacher getting "involved"]), I do wonder if an anime adaption can give me a good story without too many threads left untied.

Still, all I've read are comments, so no idea what the execution of the story will be like. This type of series isn't usually the kind I decide to check out, but this one has my interest.

I don't think your opinions on the adaptation are nowhere close to universally-held by fans of the manga, though. When we were discussing the show week-to-week, I recall hearing some complaints about that but just as many comments that the reordering was actually an improvement, especially if the anime was intended to be a standalone (i.e., more adaptation wasn't expected).

And the series was a lot more than just "alright" to those of us who didn't follow the manga, which is why I'm looking forward to the next project by its director.
