Ah...Volume 3. Remember when we were having food fights and playing board games?

As I was listening I was wondering why the english dub was getting put to shame so badly only to find out it's because they have A list VA's working on the JP dub.
I guess that makes sense now. |

I like the original cast and all, but yeah Japan pulled out the stops when casting for their Dub. Although the Vol. 3 does have some surprising additions to it: Elizabeth Maxwell as Winter, Yuri Lowenthal taking over as Mercury, and Vic Mignogna as Qrow. Hell they even managed to get Laura Bailey and Travis Willingham for a couple bit roles. |

So many spoilers in that trailer! I wonder if it's because they've assume the JP fans have already seen the english version, or just because the spoilers look cool?

I'm not much of a Gundam guy, put I'm pretty sure Hiroaki Hirata (the Japanese dub voice of Qrow) never voiced Char.
The way Warner Bros. Anime presented the Japanese dub trailer is kinda similar to how I tend to see trailers for films that are screened in Japanese, mostly due to the tone they go for. I mean, American animated films will have their trailers usually be comedic, but in Japan when dubbed, they tend to show the more dramatic parts. They'll even show a character screaming (usually someone's name) if it's a part of the movie, be it Japanese or American animated. And RWBY vol 3 just happens to have a bunch of those that are filled with "spoilers" (I say spoilers in quotes because what's considered spoilers to us who know the exact context behind each and every scene may not be that way for many Japanese who will approach those parts of the story blind). |

That's funny you call it an English "Dub" because Rooster Teeth do in fact record first, animate second. The English version of RWBY technically isn't a dub. It is the real deal. |

Technically, all animation audio is a dub, since it isn't recorded live. |

Is it just me or did they spoil pretty much everything for newcomers to RWBY Volume 3 in Japan?

I thought Qrow will be voiced by Keiji Fujiwara.
