I'm very happy about this. I've wanted to own this manga in English for a long time.
I told my SO and she seemed even more excited about it than me.

This is quite awesome! I'm really happy we got those color pages. It wouldn't have been the same without them. Late 2017 is a long time to wait, but I'm glad this is finally happening.

I shall admit that I almost expected a body pillow cover to be included. Perhaps the pillowcase cover was the closest they dared to come to such depravity...

I hope this leads to us getting the anime down the road ...Preferably uncut and uncensored!

Well at least it's not as bad as working for the BBC

I'm very happy we met two of the stretch goals. I was hoping we'd get enough to get the color pages and inserts. Now all that's left to do is wait (which is always the hardest part).

I'm totally ecstatic that Americans will finally have the chance of physically buying the manga of Kodomo no Jikan!

I remember starting to read this back in the day when everybody was up in arms about it. All I can say is that I wasn't impressed with it, rather boring and wasn't my cup of tea.

I was kinda broke right now... But do you think I will have a chance to get this on amazon or something later?? Or were they just gonna print enough for the ks backers?

DM has claimed they will sell copies at their online store after they are released.

Even if it is "boring", I have a problem with this subgenre of anime/manga that sexualizes children. I don't think it's appropriate even if it is fiction. I'm not religious and I don't consider myself a paragon of morality but I don't care for this sort of material.

It's a good thing people know how separate reality from fiction. Good for this getting backed.
I did not like this manga. Mostly because of overused tropes and symbolism, but I won't say a thing about people reading/backing it because 1) it's not my place to say it, I'm not entitled like most people (and their "my opinion" fallacy) and 2) most people already read the manga/seen the anime and know exactly what they're getting. I may have gotten bored of it, but with this kind of support, my opinion is minority.

I never really understood the issue here to begin with. Even if there was objectionable content(Spoilers: there isn't),why make a stink about it? It isn't real.
I may not agree with the content myself, but i'm certainly not gonna be as low as to insult or insinuate something about those who do purchase it,least of all the author who creates it.

Whilst I did read the whole manga back in the day I never understood the reasons behind making the kids soo young. It starts out in third grade and while the sexualisation of media is rife these days the story would have made more sense from 7th grade onwards. There were plenty of girls at my school who made an approach on one specific male teacher from age 12 or so.
This is where the artistic element falls flat to me, at least compared to something like the actual lolita novel. Plus the ending was terrible.
