This is definitely made by the Avatar people.
But it might actually not suck. Please don't let it suck.

I'll take the Black Lion one, Shiro, please (assuming he's the one with the black and white hair). I'm hoping it's not all action when, I can't believe I'm saying this, I actually do watch it. They're teenagers so I hope it'll at least be entertaining to see what "teenage" things they do. I just hope it's not too cliche or too "teenage" like.
I need my Young Justice fix and this is definitely close enough to filling that void. I don't want to wait any longer though; June 10th is so far away...

Seriously, the trailer has Lance looking and acting like Sokka.

Same, which is why I could only go off the information from the Wiki. Apparently Lance pilots the red lion. I hope they didn't change the pilots and their colors up with this reimaging. But that's the Voltron Wiki and the en.wikipedia.org page says something different so I can't tell anymore.

That didn't help.
Edit: Oh wait, I think this makes things easier to match up, lol.
The name Shiro does fit him but I thought Keith was supposed to be the Asian one with the Asian (read: Japanese) name too.

First impression: not for me.
While watching the trailer: oh, diversity? Sign me up! Go ahead and shove this down my eyeballs, Netflix!
I didn't watch the original Voltron, my brothers did. I think I did collect a sticker album which I didn't finish even though I wasn't into it. So I guess I don't have the sort of expectation the majority of people will have about this. The animation does look sharp. Sharper than what I've watched of Avatar so far.

King Zarkon is a great actor and all but can he really be a convincing Neil Kaplan?

Art style alone made that obvious, but the writing and 'comedy' in the trailer kind of sealed the deal.

Oh NIIIIIIIIICE!!!! Looking good!!! Okay I may have to give this a watch. But I still not crazy about CGI lions but what can you do. The character stuff looks pretty good. Too bad the new Thundercats got canned.

Holy Saturday morning cartoon, Batman! This is definitely aimed at kids, but I had a big silly grin on my face while watching the trailer. There's a lot of solid talent behind this. Joaquim Dos Santos is known for his dynamic action directing in American cartoons, and Studio Mir did some great work on Avatar and even better work the Legend of Korra. Also, viva la 2D animation!

Aesthetically, it looks pretty good. I like the designs of the main group, and the voice acting sounds fun so far. As far as animated series go, that's enough for me to at least give it a chance. I know very little about the original Voltron, but since this is just a "reimagining" I might not need to know more than the basics.

Shiro's probably a blatant reference to Shirogane of Golion, considering how they've already referenced GaoGaiGar in the combination sequence. That character got retooled into Sven in the Voltron series. It wouldn't surprise if they know of the source material. They could potentially kill off Shiro, just like how Shirogane got offed in the original show.
