I'm a prospective college student and being the anime fan that I am, I was hoping someone here located in Pennsylvania could possibly direct me to a college with an anime club.
I'm aware a few college's around the U.S. have them and if possible I would like to have that to take into consideration when I apply and choose which college to enter. *I know an anime club is one of the less important things when entering college, but everything counts to a degree.* So, if you know of anime clubs in Pennsylvania, please give me a yell. Thanks. |

Penn State has several anime clubs, depending on where you're at. On main campus, there's the Penn State Anime Organization. Because of a legal ruling allowing non-unique clubs PSSFS (the Sci-Fi club) can also show anime now, too. There used to be one on Altoona campus too, but I think it's collapsed since then..
I'm unaware if any of the other branch campuses have anime clubs. |

Are you talking Philly, State College, Pittsburgh or the podunks?

In the Philly area:
Villanova University has an anime club: http://www.csc.villanova.edu/~vujac/ (They are the ones that host KosaiKon and they had a Halloween bash last year so they do a couple of event-type things too.) West Chester University has one. Temple University has one. (Last I knew, they do a cherry blossom festival thing in the spring.) Drexel University has one. I think University of Pennsylvania still has one..... |

I'm not completely sure. I just moved to PA from NY about 2 months ago and have been quite lost ever since. My hometown is Catawissa. Town's near me are Danville & Newmedia. I'm not sure where my town is located in comparison to the colleges you have suggested. If anyone knows their geography of PA real well then could you help me out here. Also, I've sent in an e-mail with a few basic questions to the Penn State Anime Organization so hopefully I can find out more. It's great to know I have a chance of going to a college I may find people with intrests like mine because my social skills are deplorable. I may be able to conduct myself reasonably well online, but in real life, I'm a total mess. Sad, but true. |

I'm starting at Drexel University in about 2 days. It's in Philly and I've already met a ton of anime fans there.
Their anime organization website is here: http://www.pages.drexel.edu/~dsoanime/index.html Philadephia is in the lower eastern corner of PA, bordering NJ. I don't know much more about PA geography as I've only ever been to Philly and Allentown there. |
