Who wants to see some more Slayers anime produced? Although theres really been no news, I think eventually there will be more. More stand alone films with the tv cast like Premium of course would be nice. The final story arcs of the novelization have also never been told via animation. Hopefully someday thats accomplished via tv series or OVA. Preferably through tv series since they tend to be longer in length and can more thuroughly transcribe the story. Also I wouldn't mind spin off series with charcters other than Lina and Gourry. I think this is the least likely to happen, but I would really apreciate it. Of course Kanzaka-san may be working on getting some of his other novels animated (which I would like to see), but he says the Slayers fans are especially loyal so he wouldn't mind doing more some day.

It seems that a few years ago Slayers was really hot, but now it's not. It's basically fallen off the face of the earth. I, for one, could be perfectly happy with a spin-off series featuring Zelgadis, he's so cool.

Well of course it wouldn't be hot anymore, it hasn't been on tv since 1997. It had a really good run though, most series never reach a 3rd season. I'm sure it has a good enough fanbase in Japan, probably enough to warrant a new series.

Yea, and throw Amelia in there too. Hek every character in Slayers was pretty interesting, I'd even watch a show featuring Martina and Zangulus.

It's always nice to think that there will be a new season of your favorite anime, but I think we have enough slayers. 3 seasons, a couple of ova's, most series don't last nearly as long, and I think there comes a point when we just don't need any more of it, or the characters.

Let it go guys, Slayers is way past its sell-by date.

Yet another series is kinda overkill. We don't want it to end up like another DBZ or Pokemon, do we?

True, but I think Slayers would still be popular if CPM hadn't released the DVDs in boxset form ONLY. A lot of stored don't carry boxsets, and a lot of people won't spend that much money on something they haven't seen.

When CPM switched from VHS over to DVD, they alienated the Slayers saga. The younger/new anime fans don't know Slayers.

Another series wouldn't be overkill because the work is unfinished. The anime was based on the novel series. The novel series was finished a while after the anime was finished. I don't see why they couldn't make more of the show. They are always bringing out sequels to Macross and tons of other stuff, I don't think this is to big of a stretch to get another tv season produced. Overall, it raked in a ton of cash in its run and has a sizeable fanbase in Japan.

In the end, the only thing that matters is the Japanese otaku, and I definantly think there is a market for more of it over there. It will get licensed in the US no matter what.
