Hi. I'm looking for some good mangas to read. Smile

Requirements:
NO ECCHI!

I would prefer if...
... It has more than a few volumes (preferably, 10+)
... It's complete
... There are some intelligent characters
... None of the main characters are sex-obsessed
... Romance is NOT the main genre
... There’s some comedy
... There’s normal artwork (Good: Bleach, Naruto, Fruits Basket. Bad: HunterxHunter, One Piece – and anything too sketchy or extravagant)

Examples of mangas I dislike:
Air Gear
Angel Sanctuary
Kingdom Hearts

Examples of mangas I like:
Hikaru No Go
The Prince of Tennis
Fruits Basket
666 Satan

Thanks a lot :}

I hope these are all within the guidelines!

First work that came to mind is After School Nightmare - 10 vols long (which will be complete soon vol 10 is almost here!) There is gender-bending in this one however and romance does play a large role in it. But with everything else that happens in this one I threw it in.

Another is Hands Off! which is sadly labeled BL/yaoi in various sites. There is no BL or yaoi - the only way would be for the reader to imply it - like any shounen work out there. It is 8 vols long and about psychics. There is a follow up sequel 2 vols long that doesn't tie into the original work at all.

Pet Shop of Horrors the original version would be a good pick too if you can find all of the vols. It is 10 vols long and each deal with a mysterious pet shop in China town. It has a sequel too that is just starting up. Only 3 vols are out there and the release schedule is slow.

I'd also like to throw out an older work Phoenix. It is 12 vols long and simply amazing. All of the vols link together eventually but they do act as stand alone works as well.

Unfortunately I could name a few others but they are far from complete. If that isn't a big deal breaker for you let me know and I can post them.

P.S. I second the recommendation for Kenshin. I've been buying the work in omnibus format and it is excellent. (Sadly not all of the omnibus vols are available yet so I must wait to see what happens next.)

I recommend Trigun, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Rurouni Kenshin, I believe someone else recommended that one as well.
