Christmas is almost upon us and with that I think there should be a
thread discussing which anime you would like for Christmas and
which anime you might be getting for your friends. I think it'll be
fun. Very Happy

In my case, I asked for the complete first season of Robotech which
looks awesome and is 14 hours long! As for anime I am giving; I
bought one of the newer pokemon movies to give to one of my
friends, he's nine years old and loves that series.

Well, there's that; commence posting!

I'm not expecting anything, because I don't dare ask my family and friends, apart from a select few who are also fans, to buy me any! Laughing One of my friends has bought me Sailor Moon volume 1 (manga I know, but still) What I am hoping to get are Amazon gift vouchers instead.

As for giving, the friend who has bought me Sailor Moon 1 has strongly hinted that she'd like the first X omnibus volume (manga again haha)

If I want my family to get me anime, then I normally ask for movies or single-volume OAV titles so I don't confuse them anymore than I have to. In this case for this year, I'm hoping to get Mardock Scramble: The First Compression, Patlabor II and Patlabor WXIII.

I don't think socks are anime.

I can't hope for more than socks.
It's always socks.

@Konopan
Lol, socks huh? Well, if you get enough of them you could probably
sell them to get anime buying money! Wink

@st_owly
I saw the X omnibus and I think it looked totally rad. I'll probably
buy it online once the Holidays are over and money starts rolling in
again.

@Ggultra2764
When I want my family to buy me anime I think it's best to go with
them to the store and just pick the movies and manga out myself.

We are not doing any gifts this year, so I just bought myself some anime.

We are going to get together to have dinner, and play some games. Then on Christmas Day we will see a movie in a really nice theater that serves food & drinks in your seat.

I'd rather get S2. Cause I can't seem to justify paying the asking price for Endless 8 with my own money.

I still remember a Christmas long ago(20+ years, I was still a young child) when my mother's stocking was completely empty(thanks to my a**hole father), even though she always made sure everyone else's was full. She was so upset(yet she tried to hide it from me and my sister), that to this day, I always look for things just to put in her stocking. Even though it's mostly junk, I know she appreciates it. Maybe you're right, she doesn't really need presents, but knowing her loved ones are thinking of her is a joy in itself. And it makes me really happy, too.

I stopped putting it on the list or asking for it years ago because the conversation would go something like this.

Family "You have an entire wall full of that anime crap and you don't have it?"
Me: "No, not that one."
Family: "Well tough s***, it's a waste of money anyway yadayadayada *boring lecture omitted*. If you want it buy it yourself."
Me: "Okay, thanks for nothing."

That's pretty much what would happen to me. That and I don't trust my parents to get the right thing, even with the most explicit instructions I could possibly give them. (a link to the Amazon page)
