Well what would you like to discuss about Chobits? It's usually best to give more than just the name of an anime to start a discussion.

Sorry...it's just that all the other forums I go on tend to have a conversation start up without any topic other than the main one...chobits I mean. here is a topic i never tried to discuss before. The the difference in speed and performance of the different persocoms in the series, if this interests anyone.

Hmm, that’s not really a good topic starter either - however, I would be interested in seeing what people thought of the symbolism of the series. It is quite obvious that its a commentary on our relationship with computers, however I have always thought that there is a layered meaning on top of that as well - online relationships perhaps?

Hmm, never thought of Chobits as having any sort of symbolism. Standard nosebleeding male doormat lead and a completely vacant female lead, mixed with plenty of 'pantsu' jokes. It was a cute show and had its moments, but I think it had about as much meaning, character, or story as a hentai.

Chii is a persocom - so she is technicly ageless. However, she apparently is modeled after the typical asian woman in her late teens, early twenties.

As you see with a lot of clamps work they tend to over do the sexuality like miyuki chan in wonderland. But if you read most of the series the ones that have relationships tend to focus on that more than the sexuality and use that sexuality as comic relief and if you get into their animes as much as I do the comic relief is well needed. Considering this I woulden't say that it has as little meaning as a hentai series but it probably does not go on as far as somthing like a personal meaning such as an online relationship.

in the series they don't give an age or a date of creation but they say that her body was designed to look like a 16 year old girl.
