Crappy? I don't know that I'd go that far. It's got Teen Titans (which is a good show) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which is a good show.) I, personally, don't like Totally Spies, but my daughter likes watching it once in awhile. And I don't know anything about Code Lyko. I prefer to actually watch a show before I form an opinion about it.

Yes, the program block is specifically catered to a pre-teen audience. So, it would be natural if you didn’t like it. (I’m assuming you’re over pre-teen status). So, in essence, just because you think these show’s are crappy, that may not hold true for young children. They might love the programming block. And that’s what Cartoon Network is aiming for.

Likewise, the Miguzi packaging is likely to turn off the older viewers, but I think it might really have appeal for the preteen viewers this block is targeted to. In the promos, it looked kinda cute. Ultimately, the ratings will tell whether CN was right or wrong to revamp the late afternoons for preteens. As for other viewers, well, it's either watch Miguzi or those DVD/VHS shows in your collections that you never got around to watching. (^_*)

*grumble grumble* With the aquatic theme, it should STILL be called Mizugi. :p

I agree Teen Titans and TMNT are both good shows but they only have about fifteen episodes each that have been aired so far. I don't think that that could holds kids attention for so long. I mean Toonami had Dragonball Z (200+ eps.) Yu Yu Hakusho (100+ eps.) and G Gundam and Gundam Wing both I beleive were 49 eps. Now maybe if they will be showing new eps. every friday then I could deal. But otherwise Miguzi will not be on my to watch schedule.
Oh yeah but Code Lyoko did look cool so I might check that out.

You know, when I finally saw the advertisement, I really was wondering why they didn't call it Mizugi anyway. Sure, it may mean swimsuit, but how many parents would really complain especially among the significantly small percentage who actually know what it means?

I just saw some of "Miguuzi" or whatever that is. I'd rather watch Pokemon.
Anyway, why'd they change the name?

They didn't. Miguzi's a new programming block dedicated to airing action cartoons aimed at a 6-11 age demographic. Toonami was moved to Saturday and is supposedly going to target an older teenage demographic.

Actually, Teen Titans has shown 26 episodes over 2 seasons with another season (presumably 13 episodes as well) on its way.
TMNT has shown 46 episodes with another 6 episodes that haven't been shown in season 2. As far as I know, there isn't any plan to cancel the show.
Both just started at episode 1 today...so it'll be awhile before they run out of episodes.

I watched about 20 minutes of it today...frighteningly bad! TMNT and Teen Titans are decent, but the whole "Miguzi" setup is appalling. Toonami was far superior. At least we're getting the new Toonami/AS Saturdays, now...

Right, right. I know what its purpose is along with all of the schedule changes.
But I though it was "Mizugi" rather than "Miguzi." Mizu being "water" and gi being "cloth or cloths." Maybe I'm just illiterate then...

I guess Miguzi just sounds better with America's tendancy to add an emphasis on the second syllable of words like this. I mean, Mi-Goo-Zi sounds better than Mi-Zoo-Gi...maybe...
