Hello,

In doing some web research to add information to the Encyclopedia I’ve found some resources I’d like to share with the other members.

English Language Sites
The Big Cartoon Data Base: http://www.bcdb.com/
Not specifically an anime site bcdb does include information on many anime titles. Generally ones that have had U.S. releases.

Chronology of Animation: http://www.public.iastate.edu/~rllew/chronst.html
A month-by-month list of world wide animation releases.

TBS Online Program Catalog: http://www.tbs.co.jp/eng/catalog/english/animation.html
Alphabetical list of TBS programs.

Japanese Language Sites
Time Slip: http://www.esgraphic.com/timeslip/2.swf
Brief listings of TV anime titles from 1963 to 1974 including pictures (B/W).

TV Manga Data Base: http://www.begets.co.jp/tvmanga/db/
Alphabetical (Japanese) listing: http://www.begets.co.jp/tvmanga/
Again covers TV anime from 1963 to 1974 but has more information on some titles.

TV Anime 1960-1980 http://koti.phnet.fi/otaku/historia/allanime1960-1980.html
List of anime from that period. Some English.

TBS anime: http://www.tbs.co.jp/tbs-ch/lineup/anime/list01.html
Alphabetical listing.

Sci-Fi Anime Movie Data Bank: http://www.generalworks.com/databank/movie/anime_e.html#1980
Anime from 1958-2004. Some English.

Animax: http://www.animax.co.jp/lineup/list/movie.html
Another list. Anime offered by Animax.

Japanese Movie Database: http://www.jmdb.ne.jp/
Like the Japanese version of the IMDB.

goo-entertainment: http://movie.goo.ne.jp/index.html
One good thing about goo is that they use furigana (katakana pronunciation keys) along side the kanji name of characters, staff and cast. Problem is the pronunciation sometimes differs from how the names are listed in English sources.

I hope other anime researchers can find these helpful.

Thanks for posting these... I use many of these for my submissions too (especially in trying to find out the correct romanizations of staff/cast names) so they are indeed very helpful.

And of course, my most frequently used link would be http://www.google.com (well duh Wink ). A lot of these sites turn up on Google if you need to find the exact info, and fast.

You're probably right about too much time on my hands. At last working on the Encyclopedia keeps me off the streets and out of trouble.
