I currently like most of the shows shown on TechTV, except some of the Australian and Brittish shows (Robot Wars, Future Fighting Machines, Spy School, etc.). I think this will prove to be a good change. Anime and video games are often placed together so more likely than not, anime will still be present on the channel. Is there any word on when the changes in programming will take place?

I'm just concerned that TechTV and G4 will become one channel.
We don't get G4 up here in Canada, but we do get TechTV (albeit without the anime, due to CRTC regulations). What would this mean for us? *shrug* |

"whoopie f*cking do" just what i need, anime that gets censored when it airs (just like adult swim) and those annoying hosts of the game show x-play.

Oh, crap. Comcast swallows up another programmer. I hope they don't kill off Anime Unleashed. Hopefully the new owners will see the link between video games and anime and keep AU going. Best case, maybe Comcast will pour resources into AU to make it more of a rival to Adult Swim. Worst case, they'll flush it in favor of X-Play clones. (^_*)

I think X-PLay is SOOO much better than anything on G4. At least you won't watch the same episdoe of a show repeated for 4 months.
I think it's great that they use their lack of programing as a selling point. |

X Play isn't a bad show, but it would be better if they replaced Adam with someone who doesn't drink 37 cans of Mountain Dew a day.

Thankfully DISH Network's still gonna air it. Now...as long as they keep Screen Savers, TechLive, Call for Help, X-Play, Anime Unleashed, & Unscrewed intact (maybe bring back Thunderbirds?), I'll be happy.

Well, the surviving list of tv programs is helpful. Frankly, it means expansion of some of the programming into my area. Considering the sci-fi con we have the anime club running a room in, it helps to know what is already being shown when considering the programming for the room.

I'm also concerned with this merger. Since in my hometown, I have TechTV as a analog channel. Once they merge, it'll be gone from my channel line-up. Worse, once that come off of the line-up I'll have nothing else to watch, since most networks on TV that aim towards teenagers have crappy shows! (ie Disney Channel)

Man, I hope with the new management Sessler gets fired. He's totally ruined that show with his condencending tone, bad acting, and lousy jokes. Hopefully I will get G4 in place of Techtv on my cable now.

The FAQ for the merger says the merger will increase G4's customer base from 15 million to 44 million. I'm guessing this means most people who get Tech TV but not G4 will now get G4.
