posted on by Isaac Alexander
Ad Week reports that Comcast Corp. has entered into an agreement to purchase TechTV, Inc. from Vulcan Programming, and, upon closure of the deal, will fold TechTV into its videogame-focused television channel G4.
EchoStar Communications Corporation will retain an equity interest in the merged unit and will make the channel available on its DISH Network. G4 is now seen in 15.0 million homes, while TechTV, launched in 1998, is now available in 43.0 million households.
There is currently no word from TechTV about the future of their Anime Unleashed programming block and if that will continue on the G4 network.
