Hmm... I'm just wondering why the entries for Geneon Entertainment and its USA branch were merged into one... Now some unlicensed anime has "Geneon Entertainment USA" as their Production company, which is a bit strange to see and a bit misleading.

Hmm, looking through the Geneon list I don't see anything on there that shouldn't be. The license list is all correct and without looking too deep into it the "otherwise involved" list seems to only list Geneon in the "English Companies" sections.

Hmm... OK, there aren't as many as I thought, but here are two unlicensed anime with "Geneon Entertainment USA" as their Japanese production companies:
anime#2938 anime#1064 And here's a licensed anime that have Geneon Entertainment USA as its Japanese production company (so it should say "Geneon Entertainment" instead of "Geneon Entertainment USA") anime#2568 And there's also the problem where whenever we try to enter in Geneon Entertainment (the JAPANESE company) it returns Geneon Entertainment USA which isn't really the same thing. I think it might be a better idea to rename/merge PIONEER LDC into Geneon Entertainment since that's closer to Geneon Entertainment (Japan) than Geneon Entertainment (USA) is. |

Looks to me like people were using the wrong Pioneer in the japanese sections of these titles, so when the US Pioneer changed to Geneon in the encyclopedia the wrong name showed up in these sections.
Just click on the Error button at the bottom of each anime and then click on the "ERR" button next to the places where the wrong name is used and explaine the mistake. Emerje |

Actually I was the one who submitted the info for Tsukihime and AYA: Enishi... And I specifically wrote "Geneon Entertainment" down, but for some reason someone merged that with "Geneon Entertainment USA", and now I can't even change them back because the two are now merged  . But anyway I'll use the error feature I guess. I just posted because I wanted to know why those two companies were merged, but I guess you don't know either...

OK, I see the problem now. Looks like there's only one Geneon in the encyclopedia and it's not eve the proper name.
According to this article the only two proper names are: USA- Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. Japan- Geneon Entertainment Inc. Yeah, that's a problem. Emerje |

Okay, I'm going to fix this, there will be two companies now
USA- Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. Pseudonyms: Geneon Geneon USA Japan- Geneon Entertainment Inc. Psudonym: Geneon Japan Right now Geneon Entertainment is a pseudonym of Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc but I've asked Dan to see if we can change that and make it an invalid submission. |
