Reading animenewsnetwork.com/pressrelease.php?id=274 , it appears image is pulling a 'SF2' here. Just like Sony before them, their idea of creating 'a truly international work' is slapping western rock groups onto the soundtrack afterwards.
I really don't give a damn about full CG movies (yes, that means you too, Appleseed!), but I was kind of hoping the industry had outgrown this kind of annoying popsy marketing ploys by now. Oh well, at least it's on an alternative audiotrack.
Sure, we'll pretend Sony left SF2 intact and conveniently forget Manga Entertainments attempt to insert a Brian Eno song in GITS
