Whether or not the source material even could have served as the basis for a worthwhile animated series is debatable, as the only thing that distinguishes this fantasy world is the seriously odd mixture of fantasy, modern, and fantastical technological elements.

If they had adapted the manwha the game was based on, I imagine the anime would have been somewhat worth watching. Maybe.

I really like the cover art. Too bad the animation itself isn't up to par.

this is one anime series you wouldn't even wished on your worse enemy....boring storyline, big plot gaps, lousy dialogues, god-awful characters....i can't believed i watched the whole thing...at least it was this or Beet the Vandal Buster on fansub..

there were 2 friends who actually wanted to watch the series but i talked them out of it....one did from netflix and said he wished he listened to me....he said after first two episodes he fell asleep and returned it the very next day....

some people just don't listen to good advices...

Anime adaptations of video/computer games other than dating sims rarely work and often fail spectacularly...
Maybe if more stuff like this gets released here, those dating-sim-based anime will start to look good by comparison, in the eyes of the general public Very Happy

Is it a sad statement when the opening and closing themes, both sung wonderfully by Maimi Yamasaki, are the high point of the entire production?
I'm not familiar with Ragnarok, but after checking YouTube, the OP and ED themes do seem pretty good. At least they don't sound bad in isolation. But judging from the rest of the review, I'd be better off watching this Linkin Park AMV made with Ragnarok footage rather than watching the anime itself.

The English script strays a bit less than Funimation scripts normally do...
If Funimation had done a "Ghost Stories" on this series, I'd seriously be tempted to buy it. But I imagine they're marketing to fans of the game, who probably wouldn't care for that level of irreverance.

The only really interesting character in this anime is Baphomet.
