So... what are the Blade Children? The whole series revolves around them yet.... you don't find out what they really are. What makes them so unique that it's threatening, besides that they are fated to die and such.

Well, I didn't know they were fated to die, but now I do. I'm only 4 eps into the series...

Oh god, if only they would make another season to the anime. If they did that, I'd... I don't know what I'd do, but I'd be on an extreme happy-high. The show to me was awsome with all the logic in the mysteries, and of course the bishonen. It was what a detective show should be. Heck, you finished watching a couple eps and felt you were then smart enough to commit murder. Anime hyper Gotta love that Rico... Dammit, it's been about a year since it was released in Japan. Will it ever be released here?

Fangirl rant aside, onto the question of the Blade Children. ... I have no idea. That was pretty much my biggest *and I think only* peeve of that show.

On the what makes them a threat, well, I got the idea that it was their super smarts. But then again unless there's something in their genes that makes them go beserk and want to take over the world or something, there really isn't anything I can think of that would make them a threat. I've been reading the manga, but haven't really gotten past the first volume, so... nothing's been revealed. But I heard the manga actually goes past the tv series, so hopefully the answer will be revealed.

Especially since the TV series has another loose end... where or what happened to Narumi's spoiler[older brother?]

That also is a pet peeve since it was unanswered.

Indeed. Almost forgot about that. *Is going to have to watch that series again*

Sad They need to answer these kinds of questions in shows! It's not right to have the show focused completly on those questions, and never answering them.

It started off well... then kinda derailed a little bit... and feels a little incomplete. I don't feel like watching the series wasted my time, but came off a little disappointed with how things turned up.

No, not really a bad ending. It's just... dissapointing that certian questions weren't answered. Questions you really really really wanted answer.

And I really don't see how Spiral could be ranked bad. Sure it's not amazing, but it's... original in it's own way, and addicting to watch, even in it's slow areas. Plus if you're a girl, there's always the bishonen factor to help you out.

I mainly found trying to figure out the little "mysteries" in episodes before the characters did very entertaining.

I have other questions:

-Is there a reason for their "cat-like" pupils other than to just distinguish them from the normal characters? spoiler[The only Blade Child that didn't have those weird eyes was Sayoko, and when she was kidnapped it was mentioned she was "different."]

-for some reason I am intrigued with the appearance of cats throughout the episodes. spoiler[Kanone is said to have always like cats. Eyes-kun carries dried sardines in his pockets. Cats seem to gather around the Blade Children. And near the end, the dog was chasing Rio around, but that could've been because he wanted her breakfast.] For the longest time I was thinking of the connection between the cats and having nine lives, the pupils...etc. But, really I have no clue.

-The rib question was never answered. spoiler[Why are they missing a rib? Erg. Plus, when Asazuke grabbed Narumi's left side of his chest he said "...it's because we don't have one of these!" Was he referring to a lung? Soul?]I don't know.

-spoiler[I think that Ayumu's brother is dead and I think the Blade children killed him. Which is why I think they live by his words so vigilantly. He was probably the one person who they may have regretted killing, one who suddenly made them question their reason for doing what they do. They saw Ayumu as a threat/hope since he could possibly make the Blade Children see past their fate.]

I hear the manga (still ongoing?) is a lot more violent than the anime and many things were cut out to avoid showing that. As far as I can tell, the manga doesn't reveal the secrets to the Blade Children either, at least what I can find.
