Is Teen Ttans consider an anime because I think it is here my three reasons.
1.J-pop song opening.
2.Character designs
3.Their facial expressons
But is it consider as an anime because the thought was buging the hell out of me.

I think the best defination I've seen for anime is that its made by the Japanese for the Japanese market/audience.

I like to define anime as, animation done by the japanese. I mean a main character(robin) is an american character. So no, it's not an anime

This show's basically part of the recent trend of American animators integrating certain elements of the anime style into more decidedly American cartoons. Not really anime, but rather simply borrowing a bit from anime to capitalize on its popularity.

Another non-anime but anime esque show I love. I got addicted recently when I just got cable. I really get annoyed by the new episodes, "Lets tackle EVERY characters issues, no matter how dumb they seem " *punches people who couldn't think of good episodes* x_O "Ow"

I like to call it anime inspired, and the right way to go about it. I loved Batman Beyond when it came out, and Teen Titans seems to be something along the lines by the same creators.
Anime to me is what Zenitram said. Or at least an animation that was made by a Japanese animation studio, by a Japanese director.
Eventually we may just start seeing hybrids of the Japanese studio with an american director, sort of like what the animatrix was.

I think the word anime is short for Japanimation, which would indicate that anime is an animated show from Japan.

Anime is a Truncation of Animation used by the Japanese to describe all animation and Used in the West(ie not japan) as a term for Japanese anime in general. Of course the irony is very few "Anime"s are animimated in japan anymore there outsourced to Korea for the bulk of the animiation.

I'm pretty sure that the commonly accepted way to deternime if a show is "anime" or not, is wether they have the almond shapped, usually very bright eyes. That just seems to be the most common trend in anime, obviously not everything you would consider anime shares this.
Personally I try to stay away from issues that try to label anime (espcially anime vs. cartoon topics), I don't need to label them, I just watch what I want and call it what I will.

Tricksy hobbitses, trying to fool us into thinking they gave us an anime... I think it just shows the popularity of anime, if using a similar style will bring in more viewers than a more "traditional" looking show. (Like "Justice League")

At least the words go with the mouths
Also, "animé" is French for animation and was borrowed when animation was introduced. A source for this fact includes the book, Samurai From Outer Space by Antonia Levi. Hehe, just to add that little tid-bit.
