Wasn't sure where this should go....I was just watching "Sola"(I guess I have to go buy it now), and was about to put it away when I noticed 田中 理恵 ("Tanaka Rie") in the ending credits. Not as a cast member, but apparently part of the music/sound production.
It appears on the part of the credits that overlays on a picture of overhead power lines. Her name is at the bottom. My best understanding of the kanji next to the title is something to do with sound. Does anyone know if it really is the Rie Tanaka or someone else with the same name, or what the credited line is? Just curious, but thanks if you can help.[/i] |

I'm not seeing any other people with the name "Rie Tanaka" in the Encyclopedia, so barring a credits mistake, it does appear to be the Rie Tanaka. I checked the credits sequence, and the credit in question is 音響制作担当 [onkyouseisakutantou], which I would render as Acoustics/Sound Production Manager. There might be a more specific and more accurate term that I'm not aware of.

If the title was "Acoustic/Sound Production Manager", then it's kinda unlikely that it's her, right? That would be a somewhat interesting career direction for her
Actually, I just checked .jp wikipedia and it lists a different person for that credit, 木戸健介 (reading???). I don't know where the wiki got this information from, the official website doesn't provide the staff with this level of detail. Since the two names aren't even close, could this possibly be a prank by someone on the animation team??? 
edit: never mind, the .jp wikipedia credit was 音楽... (music?) rather than 音響.... edit2: Never mind regarding this whole topic...it's probably just someone with the same name working at this company "MAGIC CAPSULE". Apparently the same name and company are also in Nodame Cantabile's credits. Someone asked about it here: http://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q1011942355 and the responders seem to think it's just a person with the same name. |

I haven't checked the link you posted... but I don't think it's that far off base considering her musical background. She's a singer, and has released CDs. It wouldn't surprise me if she ventured into the production aspect.
