Man haven't heard about Tsuruta in years. Didn't know he had more works. Didn't know he worked on Abenobashi either. Be nice if someone would pick up more of his works. We could have a re-released of his Spirit of Wonder stuff and some of his newer works. Hope this does see a release here.

Quick correction: "Omoide Emanon" wasn't a novel, but a short story. Shinji Kajio eventually turned it into a series or shorts and novellas, to which he still occasionally adds. Kenji Tsuruta has been doing illustrations for the stories and paperback collections whenever they appear for many years.

The original short story can be found in English in "Speculative Japan 2" (Kurodahan Press). Tsuruta did a manga adaptation of it as well, though I don't know if it ever came out in English or not.
