I don't know if reviews are allowed on this board, so I'm just going to post...

Art by Misao Inagaki, Original novel by Koji Suzuki, Script by Hiroshi Takahashi.
Publisher: Dark Horse
Price: $14.95
Pages: 154
Age Rating: 13+
Orientation/SFX: Unflipped/Untranslated

Story: A
Art: B+

First of all, I haven't seen either version of the movie, so I'm judging only the manga.

The art: Good. The art isn't the ultimate greatest, but it suits the story and made it very enjoyable.

The story: Excellent. I bought this on a whim, and I didn't have the highest expectations. This kept me entertained and it was very thrilling. Probably the best horror/mystery manga I've read.

Overall rating: 9/10

Any other opinions?

the original movies (Ringu 1&2) are alot scarier than the american one, but I enjoyed them all, worth watching.

I also bought it on a whim when my local comic book store was having a 40% off manga sale.

Scariest thing I've read in a long time. It was seriously creeping me out, to the extent that I decided I'm too chicken to ever see the movie. (Reading it on my sunporch at night with nothing but darkness outside all the windows didn't help!)

Definitely recommended!

I think I'm going to wimp out on the movies too. Embarassed I can read the manga version of it, but I'm not good when it comes to actually SEEING it.

hehe, "The Ring" kinda made me laugh more than scared, while Ringu 1&2 scared the crap out of me, it's the implied results that make it so.... creepy! Sort of like watching old horror movies... alot scarier than the bloodbath modern one's. (or I'm just a weird individual Razz )

I've seen The Ring, but now the manga and Ringu movies are beginning to intrigue me.

I love a good scary movie that doesn't spend 50% of the budget on blood.
