Three gasps of surprise...
1) Eyes on Me was not first
2) Melodies of Life was not on the list.
3) Vamo Alla Flamenco was not on there. That's like, the catchiest song out there! Wait, there's NOTHING from FFIX on there! And that's Nobuo's fav work!
...but every work before FF11 had amazing music and were amazing games, and still are.

FF XI and XIII both have excellent music (XI has a wealth of good music, such as Gustaberg, Ronfaure, and The Sanctuary of Zi'Tah, just to name a few...for XIII, take a look at stuff like Blinded by Light, Gapra Whitewood, Fang's Theme, Will to Fight, and Dust to Dust, among others).
XII has really good music too, but it gets a bad rap because the music isn't nearly as catchy and memorable as it is in the other games, it's just good BGM.

Gackt's REDEMPTION was my favorite. Sad it didn't make the list.

Background music it was a fierce battle between Nobuo Uematsu and himself, eh?
