You forgot Princess Tutu and Revolutionary Girl Utena. Though one's a shojo series so I don't if that goes down your alley. |

There are also these titles:
Clamp School Detectives (3 vol.) Juvenile Orion (5 vol.) Magic Knight Rayearth I (3 vol.) Magic Knight Rayearth II (3 vol.) Man of Many Faces (2 vol.) - This title is tied in with Clamp School Detectives. Read Detectives then read this one. MeriPuri (4 vol.) Legend of Chun Hyang (1 vol.) Shirahime -Syo (1 vol.) The One I love (1 vol.) - I'm not sure if these are still available, but they are good. Suki (3 vol.) Legal Drug (3 vol.) - With this one, 3 vol. are all that are available in the U.S. It is NOT complete but as to when the rest of the manga come out is anyone's guess. BTW - All of these titles are CLAMP titles except for Juvenile Orion and MeriPuri. |

Personally I'm surprised no one mentioned:
Zombie Powder (4 Vol.) Unfortunately the series does not have a definite end Last edited by LightYagami on Sat Sep 16, 2006 1:14 am; edited 1 time in total |

For something more mature, Strain was only 5 volumes. Mai the Psychic Girl was only 3. Rumiko Takahashi's "Rumic Theater"/"Rumic World" series are all one-shot stories, so you don't even have to pick up the whole series as each chapter is an individual story.
Mermaid Saga is an amazing horror series, and it's only 4 volumes (although it doesn't really "end", Takahashi just stopped making it). For comedy, Azumanga Daioh is only 4 volumes.... |

Ultra Maniac (5 volumes) is a nice little shoujo series about a normal girl who meets a witch trainee. Hilarity (and a little bit of drama) ensues.

Blood Alone (2 volumes in English, 3 volumes in Japanese. Keep going on)
Ninin Ga Shinobuden (1 volume in English, 4 volumes in Japanese. 4 volumes total) Blood Alone is drama, and Ninin Ga Shinobuden is really funny comedy. It turned into anime, and English ver. is called Ninja Nonsense |

PLANETES: 5
Someday's Dreamers: 2 FLCL: 2 out of those 3 PLANETES is by far the best. It's a realistic portrayal of life in space in the 2070s. |

Strain, I believe, is 5 volumes long, all of which have been released in the US...it's quite good.

Just a few come to mind:
(The first two might require some tracking down, but they are available through various online retailers.) Clamp School Defenders Duklyon - CLAMP (2 volumes) In the same CLAMP School "universe" as Detectives and MoMF. Light and silly; pokes fun at Japanese superheroes in the vein of the Power Rangers. Shadow Lady - Masakazu Katsura (3 volumes) A magical girl who uses her powers to steal and cause trouble with the local police force while looking her sexiest. Fan service abounds, but a humorous read. Anne Freaks - Yua Kotegawa (4 volumes) Three high schoolers are brought together with the common goal of destroying a cult to which their parents belonged. Dark, bloody, and often graphic. Mai-Hime (My-Hime) - Kenetsu Satou (5 volumes) Protagonist Yuuichi transfers to a new high school and discovers the HiME, a team of female students who use their unique powers to defend against attacks of the strange Orphans. A bit hard to follow in places, but action-packed. Unsure how you feel about non-Japanese titles, but ones I enjoy are Dramacon (3 volumes), Fool's Gold (3 volumes), and Sorcerers and Secretaries (3 volumes). Visit Tokyopop's site to read excerpts and get a sense of their offerings. |

Try Erica Sakurazawa's one shots. She has a few titles out in the US, but they are all one shots. She writes josei manga, which are made for women. Her manga are all very realistic and interesting, and she is a talented artist and writer. If you like realistic manga, I very much recommend this.

I could rattle off great titles all day long, but unless you tell us what kinds of stuff your looking for that won't be of much help. |
