On the other hand, the low sales of Gaogaigar have effectively "nailed the coffin shut" on the company looking to release any other giant robot series.

Well, if people actually knew you were releasing Gaogaigar, that wouldn't be a problem. Your schedule is the worst in the biz.

I don't really think it's fair to say no one knew about it. The fans that would buy this type of show are the ones who know it's release schedule from digging around on-line. Hell, I don't even have any interest in the title and I knew they were releasing it just from following the usual blurbs at AoD. Besides, old anime (hell, anything made before 1990) doesn't sell well regardless of genre. No amount of advertising is going to change that fact.

Crawly: Yes, but MB has an inconsistent release schedule. Even they admit it. And Gaogaigar is not that old.

Since they were talking about old mecha, I just figured GGG was part of that. Like I said, I have no interest in the genre, regardless of the age of the series, so didn't realize it was newer mecha. Either way, though, even an inconsistent schedule isn't going to make people stop buying a title they want. Especially given that this isn't a mainstream, casual fan type of title. If they already had the first few volumes, they would have kept watching to see when the rest was coming out, and I suspect they did. This just wasn't a title that was going to sell well, period.

Crap! This means that they probably won't release 'Final' now.
Well, I hope that they will finish up the rest and just get it out the door.

I think the show needed some advertising. But would that have helped?

<Sigh>
