You have those anime where you're like "oh yeah that show!". Because you probably forgot about them. It can be for a particular reason. Like not keeping tabs on the anime, or something else. Talk about why you forgot about them or what you remember from that anime show.

So what anime have you forgotten about?

Anime that I forget exist

Pilot Candidate - Back when it aired on the old adult swim 4 or 5 years ago (I"ll say 5) I watched it. In several times past when I would think back to the earlier shows I watched, I'd forget it somehow. On top of that, it isn't very successful now, doesn't air on tv anymore, and not so much talked about. The characters I could remember most were the main character, the girl with the cat ears, and the quiet guy with white hair. The setting was in space most of the time, and there were boys who each trained in a school to pilot, and they had female partners with them. That's probably the best I can remember. I don't think I remember it that well.

Marmalade Boy - "Yume ja nai Yume ja nai no... Aa... Mou..."

That was part of the chorus to the song that keeps playing episode after episode in this show. The song is called Moment. What is the all time record for insert song most used in an anime? This has to be in there. The song played so much. As for what the focus of the show was. It was mostly a romance anime I think. Two of the main characters were lovers named Yuu and Miki. They would get tangled up with other characters (who would be part of the main cast too) who are also interested in them and also be in their company. I keep thinking that the show was the marmalade used with food, then when I look at what genre the anime is I'm like "oh I forgot about that anime".

Martian Successor Nadesico - One of the few mecha animes that I actually liked. Was watching this about 4 years ago. But didn't go that far. Some other animes caught my attention in that meantime so I was busy with them and I forgot Nadesico, and to watch it for quite some time (still haven't done so nor completed it). Just remembered it around this year. What I remember most about this anime is the girl with the blue hair (or what color is it?) named Yurika. The seiyuu who does this character is Houko Kuwashima. The person who does the voice for Clare on Claymore. She sings the ending theme for Nadesico too, which I find her good at and like.

Kare Kano or His and Her Circumstances - Remember some of it, but I never watched it all the way. Forgot about it. For that I was prone to not remember it as well. Which it did happen to me. There has been a time when I keep getting the words circumstances and circumcises mixed up together. I would call it His and Her Circumcises on accident. Can't remember Kare Kano all that well. I remembered how the character designs and artwork looked like but I forget the names of the people in the anime. Also remember that it is produced by Gainax and the creator of Neon Genesis Evangelion Hideaki Anno directed it. I don't see it being talked about as much like it did at the time when I watched it. Going back and watching the opening theme of the anime did bring back some memories and of the experience I had with this show.

Orphen - Mostly because I didn't keep tabs on it. When I think of the anime I think of the main character Orphen. He is the only character on the anime that I could remember the name of. The main character Orphen is a sorcerer who can do magic. What the anime was about, I forgot what it is. Since I haven't seen the sequel Orphen: The Revenge that might have also carried over to why I forgot about this series. I forgot this anime up until this year. I do have the interest of going back and watching through its entirety.

Sorcerer Hunters - This was an anime that fell off my radar. From what I remember it was old and seemed to be a series made from a decade ago. My guess most likely is the mid 90's. I can think of many things on what animes that came from that time were like. So anyways, the main cast were a group who went around from place to place to punish sorcerers who were up to no good. Don't remember the characters that well. I do remember that Megumi Hayashibara did one of the main characters on this anime. She was the younger sister of the red (or maybe pink) haired girl. My interest in this anime became nill because I didn't get what direction the series was heading and couldn't take the patience to see if things got better than what was being shown in the episodes I went through.

Gunsmith Cats - The setting where this series took place was in Chicago, Illinois if my memory is correct. There were two girls who ran a gunshop. I forgot their names. They took on a mission where they soon learned that they were getting into something bigger than what they were expecting. They went on a wild chase and that is the action I remembered from it. Gunsmith Cats is old, didn't run for too long, and it was few years ago when I saw it. That is why I forgot about it.

Triangle Heart - Not sure what I can remember. I remember this because my favorite seiyuu Hikaru Midorikawa did a character in it. I forgot his name. That character along with his sister would protect a friend from an organization that was after her. They were good with swords. The girl that was being protected by the siblings is a good singer with fortune. Those are the most I can remember. I think this was based on one of the three parts of a game. The anime Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is a spinoff of this from what I gather.

Kanon - The first one that is. Up until the 2006 version came out. It doesn't take me long to differentiate between Kanon and Kanon 2 though. I have to think "which is the one produced by Toei animation and which is the one produced by Kyoto animation?". Whenever I would see anything of the 2002 version from Toei, I would think of how the artwork could look better and be improved upon. So when I found out the news about a new version coming out, Kanon 2006, and saw the trailers and how it looked, I went something like "well what do you know". The anime became more famous. It might not be probable to confuse the two versions in conversations. I bet when people think of Kanon more people would be more familiar with 2006 the Kyoto version.

Black Blood Brothers - Around last fall, the same time right now of last year, I watched a few episodes of this. It was a vampire anime. I don't remember the plot too well because there wasn't anything about it that would make me more than half ecstatic. There's a couple things I can remember most. The main character is in an all red outfit and he has younger brother who accompanies him. They fought these other groups of vampires (or maybe I'm getting it wrong). Another thing about it was that I remember the atmosphere of the show wasn't so so noisy. Then there is the opening theme, which I found pretty boring. I was okay with what this anime was about. But something about the mood in this anime just didn't do it for me. It fell off my radar at some point. I dropped it in favor of other more anticipating titles that came out at that time.

Well I guess that was a bit much. Sometimes it's not easy to remember the stuff you saw especially if you didn't keep tabs on them. Also if you don't hear that much about them.

I wanted to mention a certain anime but I forgot it.

I suppose I techincally 'forget' a lot of anime, simply due to the sheer amount I watch- it's not possible to keep everything on the forefront of your mind.

Having said that,I did consistently forget about Escaflowne... I'd find a used DVD at a gamestop, say to myself "Hey, this show rocks! I have to remember to look for volume 1"... and would promptly forget as soon as I left the store. After a year plus of this, I finally bought that stinkin' DVD, just so I'd remember the show. That was the year the Perfect Collection came out, which I bought.

i think forgetting an anime is not a big deal...its natural...especially when you're sticking to lots of it..some of those anime that i forgot which exists are Virtua FIghters, Ranma 1/2, and Orphen..I actually forgot the others..Very Happy...i used to watch those animes and maybe because there are already lots of animes that showed up, they just got forgotten over time...

I can't really think of any anime that I really forgot. The closest thing I can think of is that I kept forgetting how much I enjoyed the RG Veda manga until I bought a new volume and read it and them I would remember that I was really into the series.

I don't forget anything simply because I have everything in my My Anime list. Wink But I know there are series that I'll not pay any attention to for years, like Medabots or something I watched on TV a long time ago. Reminds me of the kind of thing were you'd mention Moltar hosting Toonami back when Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z were still young in America.

One real problem here -- I forgot 'em. Therefore, how can I list 'em?

I don't really forget series I've watched, but I forget the characters most of the time. I guess it's because of all the anime I've seen this year alone (80+) plus the 100+ anime I've seen before my hiatus. Most of the time I remember the face, but forget the names, sometimes I completely don't remember them.

I forgot about Nadesico until recently when someone on an anime blog mentioned it, despite the fact that it was one of the first anime shows I watched - consequently many of the references were lost on me but I enjoyed it very much nevertheless, marathoning it over a weekend.

The thing I remember most from Nadesico is the instructional videos that the in-ship TV would play, explaining stuff that was going on . . . good times, good times.

True, so true. Laughing

I can vaguely remember the stuff I've seen, but my recollection of the details is generally very bad. I don't have an instant recall of most series I've seen, and it usually takes me about a half-hour before I recall most of the pertinent details regarding an anime, most likely as I stand up to go to the toilet or something.

im pretty much the same way. i always end up forgetting the names of characters probably because i usually marathon series after another. i remember last year when i first got into fansubs i spent all my spare time watching sometimes even skipping school. the basic plot and story is somethin i usualy dont forget but for filler episodes in long series i usually do forget a couple.

its sometimes good to forget because you can rewatch the series and relive the storyline. i think there was a post a while back that asked what would you pay to rewatch a series and feel the same emotions as the first time previewed.

I know what you mean. A few months ago, I forgot about one of the characters from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Emiri Kimidori), so I decided to check on that character. I was gonna watch just the episode with her on it, but I felt like rewatching the whole thing. It was still funny, and I think it was funnier the second time I watched it.

I haven't really forgotten anime that exist per se. I mean there's plenty of titles I don't remember because I simply don't like or care for them. I think what happens more in my case is forgetting what I actually have. I've rented plenty through Netflix and watched some at friends or borrowed some. So sometimes I'll remember a series I wanna watch and forget I borrowed it and don't actually own it. Then I spend the time to rent it and the desire to watch it dies by the time it comes in from Netflix. Sad

One recent title I forgot I have that I was thinking about watching is Devil hunter Yohko. For some reason I just started wanting to watch some horror type anime and thought immediately of that show. I thought I had borrowed it in the past and didn't have it. Then when moving some stuff I found it with other series I had put away for more current stuff.

I don't think I've ever totally forgot about an anime's existence. I know I haven't seen as much anime as some people here, so I might forget about some when I see a lot more anime though.

If it's been a while since I've seen a certain anime, I sometimes forget the characters or parts of the plot. I really don't have the best memory, and that kinda scares me because I worry about how forgetful I'll be when I get much older.

Edit: Why the heck did I type "existance?" I knew it wasn't spelled that way...

Well, I just use the handy dandy My Anime feature here on this website and an Access Database here on my PC to keep track of everything I've seen and keep it up to date so forgetting is not very likely. Three cheers for obsessive redundancy! Razz

I mostly forget anime titles because I watch too much. When I want to look for a certain anime I find it really hard because I always forget names. I sometimes forget characters as well. One anime I always forget is Bubu Chacha. I did not watch it when I was a kid [maybe I watched it but I can't remember] and when it was re-aired I still did not watch it so whenever I try to remember that particular anime all I can say is 'the one with the magic dog, I think'. I also always interchange the characters of Mojacko and Doraemon. Once my teacher asked me, 'Who was it that housed Mojacko and his siblings?' I answered, 'Uh, I forgot.. Nobita?'
