This news was inevitable. Judging from the merchandise sales, there was more than enough money made to finance the series.
Now the difficult part: waiting for it to get licensed here. Perhaps Crunchyroll's already on top of it.

It will be in the noitaminA timeslot? That's a bit unexpected... Well, I'm going to expect the anime to be better and less jumbled than the OVA because of this. Fingers crossed.

What a sell-out. Then again, if Kana Hanazawa making little moaning noises while portraying a girl in a tiny skirt will make enough money for NoitaminA to air something decent next season, I suppose it isn't a total abomination. There's nothing particularly terrible about the BRS OVA, but it is obvious pandering.

Cool. I wasn't blown away by the OVA, but it was intriguing enough for me to be curious how things would play out in an actual series.

I hope the TV anime has more Black Gold Saw. Her character design = awesome.
I hope this show doesn't have Kana Hanazawa. I've gotten quite tired of her same-voice-same-voice in anime these days.

It seems that the committee for the show is very pro-international audience, judging from all the subtitles (7 languages?!?!?!) on the mangazine promo DVD and BD release. So I feel quite glad that this'll likely get simulcasted.

Hooooooly sheet. AWESOME news is AWESOME.
I was SERIOUSLY hoping for this to happen.
And god help them if they don't use the setting from the OVA, I REALLY liked the parallel worlds theme they used in it and I want to see it further explored...
...Thusly, I won't be surprised at all if the first 3 episodes or so are composed of the OVA or are a redo of them. But as long as I get to see a continued story, I'll be happy. They left on some semblance of a cliffhanger implying that STR was Yuu's alter ego and she was starting to go through the same behavior as Yomi. It begs the question of whether or not there are other real world counterparts for each parallel world ego.
So glad to see my predictions of a full series came true.

What? Noitamina?
I'm a bit unsure about them so flagrantly flirting with the otaku fanbase, as it's not really playing to their core values.
Then again this year so far the Noitamina slot has consisted of two offerings, one (Hourou Musuko, Ano Hana, Usagi Drop) more keeping with Noitamina's original remit, and the other more aimed at the more mainstream anime audience. That's how it struck me, anyway.
I didn't dislike the OVA, so I'll probably watch this, but on the whole it just seems a world away from shows like Honey and Clover.

So will this be based on the OVA or have its own story? I'm hoping for the latter as I found the OVA to be unimpressive and a bit average.

Ano Hana was pretty much otaku bait, since it was aimed at guys when the majority of the past Noitamina shows were aimed at women.
But I'm loving this new trend; I guess they just know you can no longer make money by doing a block focused at people who don't buy anime, and its the Otakus who fund the industry. So to keep it afloat, they NEED to have otaku bait anime every once in a while. Kinda like how Madhouse needs a fanservice anime (like Highschool of the dead) every once in a while to fund their other projects.
