The toy looks real cheap, its no wonder the magnets can come off and be swallowed by little kids.

How young would a child be when he/she is watching one piece? Even the 4 Kids version isn't really programming the most parents would show to very young children. Obviously, the child doesn't have to watch the show to enjoy the toy, but it does seem likely that parents would buy something like Power Rangers instead.
Also, is this linked to the recall for all those toys made in China? I know those had lead paint on them, but I think I also heard something about magnets on those. |

wasn't the 4kids version rated G till it switched to CN? These toys were probably gotten by kids who watched the show or thought they looked cool.
I look forward to a joke from someone about 4kids and these toys. |

The only thing rising at 4Kids is the collectibility of the recalled toys!! |

I had heard about thousands of toys getting recalled. Who knew it included something from One Piece.

I'm quite positive that the toys with the magnets are also from that one recall and are connected to China as well. As for the fact that younger children who might swallow the magnets (which can cause internal ruptures of organs, apparently, if multiple magnets are swallowed and subsequently attract each other) aren't the target age of One Piece, they could always be playing with a toy belonging to an older sibling. |

I'm thinking Bandai should probably check its inventory, too, since many of its products are also made in China.

Everything is made in China. I think people really need to look into the reasons why this is happening, such as a demand from Western companies for even lower costs, paired with a labour shortage in China, causing factories to pretty much need to cut corners in order to survive. |

marie-antoinette: Considering they got a population in the billions, I'm sure there are plenty of people who want a job over there. It's just they don't want the crap work we offer them.

But there is apparently a bit of a labour issue now, because of the one child policy. There aren't as many new workers coming into the system as there have been in the past, and apparently this is causing wages to go up as well.

Apparently, standards didn't go up with the wages. I'm kind of worried about whether the workers weren't exposed to lead.

Not anime-related, but since there are parents on here, more toys have been recalled.
