This page announces that GAINAX is looking for new recruits to work on a project in development. Based on current trends, what do all of you think about a future GAINAX project?

I haven't liked them too much in recent years, and as Kazuya Tsurumaki is off working with Anno on the new Evangelion movies, they're missing their best director. I dread Shouji Saeki directing ever again, based on his track record. On the other hand, Hiroyuki Imaishi's work has been consistently entertaining.

I'm looking for to Gainax's new project. Some of my favorite shows have been from them. Namely, FLCL and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Even if Kazuya Tsurumaki is gone we do still have hope for Hiroyuki Imaishi like you said. Guess we will just have to wait and see how things turn out.

Honestly I'm expecting something aimed at Otaku's like He Is My Master. I'll be ecstatic if it isn't but Gainax's history....

@Xenofan 29A: I liked FLCL, which I believe Shouji Saeki directed. In fact, I loved it. One of my favourites. The other series though...

Anyway, as I am monolingual, could someone please tell me if the page has anymore information other than what Xenofan 29A has already described?

Although the ANN page for him is ambiguous on the matter, Saeki was an Episode Director for FLCL, not the project director. Kazuya Tsurumaki, probably the best director GAINAX has ever had, (yeah, I think I like him even more than my obsession with Hideaki Anno) directed it.

I enjoyed Gurren-Lagann, as I've said before, though I do notice that other people seem to like it more than I did. So, I would love to see Imaishi work again.

I tend to like just about anything Gainax does because I try to be really selective in my buying of anime. However, if it's by Gainax I'll probably buy it simply because it's Gainax.
