Wow, the cast lists looks good. I can't wait to hear it. Very Happy

Too bad FUNi can't release the beginning episodes yet. Oh well, I'll still buy the episodes 144+ when it comes out.

I really wish they had picked movie 4 instead since the latest film was flat out terrible retelling of the entire Arabasta Arc.

They probably chose it because we just finished the Arabasta arc here in America, and it'll still be on our minds when it comes out next year.

Hopefully new fans get a kick out of it and we'll get the other films a bit sooner.

I really want to see how this cast turns out. I'll have nothing to compare them to besides the 4Kids dub, though (I've never seen the fansubs or anything)...

It's too bad the box sets have been delayed into next year...

It's strange that the eighth movie is being released first...

And, I really wanted to see One Piece from the beginning with FUNi's release, but I guess that can't happen right now...I'd be totally lost if I started at episode 144, though...sigh...What can I do...?

Sad to hear that Funimation won't be able to release the first two season, but it looks like the the third season has everything the fans want. Uncut and with original spelling on the names.

Oh yeah, that reminds me. Why did ANN list Zoro/Zolo as Zorro?

So FUNi's DVDs will have Zoro, I guess? What about the TV broadcast?

I wonder about other things like Loguetown/Roguetown, too...

I thought I heard something about the creator wanting them to keep it as Zolo for some reason, I dunno I might of just heard a rumor or something instead of something true.

I'm not totally sure but from what I understand Zolo will stay Zolo for the CN dub while he'll remain Zoro on the DVDs.

So the situation's like when Geneon sat on the first season of DBZ? Well maybe it's for the best, considering that we don't need any "enhanced" OP, either. Rolling Eyes

Awesome, that's a solid cast right there. I can't wait to hear them.

Now, when they say that Viz still has the "first 2 seasons" what is that in terms of episode count? Is it 1-26 or what? I just hope FUNi can release the Arlong arc on DVD, that's the one set that I really want.

Viz has the rights to every single episode 4kids dubbed up until the last bit of filler episodes after Arabasta which is about 143 episodes if I'm not mistaken.

Wow, that's actually a really smart and intuitive dub that, based on the cast's previous works, actually both sounds like it may be similar enough to the previous awful dub in terms of voice likeness, but way better (since these people can actually ACT).

I'm sad that Viz is sitting on the first batch of episodes, though.

Any idea as to when their rights to those episodes runs out?

One thing the article forgot to mention, which is most important to me, is that FUNimation will be keeping the original background music, as well as dubbing the opening and ending songs like it did for Yu Yu Hakusho and Detective Conan. My biggest beef with the original 4Kids dub was the utterly generic and blaring music that it used, and having Zoro called Zolo is a small price to pay for the return of the rich orchestra.

And since Zoro is being called Zoro anyway, it's all good.

Since Viz acquired the DVD license when 4Kids was still dubbing the show, that means Viz will be handling the release for episodes 1-104 of the 4Kids dub (which corresponds to the first 143 in the JP version). Unfortunately, that means FUNimation can't release Arlong yet =(

Luffy: Colleen Clinkenbeard (Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Nami: Luci Christian(Only voice I ever liked that she did was Wrath)
Zorro: Chris Sabat (I already saw this comin' before 4Kids had it)
Usopp: Sonny Strait(Ah.....Hughes and Kuririn)
Sanji: Eric Vale(Really good VA but not sure on the fit)
Chopper: Brina Palencia(A kid I think)
Robin: Stephanie Young(Who's she?)

So they pull in the FMA cast and some long timers and hit gold!!!

Using Zoro on the boxsets is gonna make One Piece and Naruto duke it out in DVD sells!!!!!!!!!!!!
