Funi is going to have their very own building! Cool!
Now they can have Ultra Casual Fridays on Thursdays and PJ Mondays without pissing off the other tenants.
Not to mention the basketball games in the Atrium! Scooters in the hallways!
Lessee, what else are they able to do now?
Oh yeah! More space to work on getting us more new anime! Now that's Ultra Cool!

so Funimation and ADV are both based here now. Texas is becoming the anime capital of the US.

It would appear so, although Viz is still firmly planted in SF. But as for anime it certainly does appear that Texas is (as the kiddies say it) "where its at"

Funi and ADV have always been in Texas. This isn't a new development.
I just wanted to say that Flower Mound is my hometown! I was raised and went to school there. Pretty cool.
When I lived in Denton, and worked at Blockbuster in college, a bunch of voice actors for Funi would come in and rent movies. That's how I used to get inside scoop on upcoming shows they were going to license.

You have to remember that Texas is a tax-free state. So them being based there allows them to keep 9%* more of there profits compared to there California counterparts. When your dealing in millions of dollars, that is a pretty big chunk. Which is great because it allows them to invest in more great anime, and produce better products. It just makes more sense to start in one of the the seven tax-free states.
*(New York 7.5%, North Carolina 6.9%, Iowa up to 12% and Illinois with 4.8%)

Illumitoon, which was founded by former Funimation executives, is also based in Fort Worth.

If only the entire country would go in this direction and drop the income taxes. The largest economy in the world and we still use a system that's designed to punish success. Makes no sense.
Politics aside, it's great to hear that Funimation's moving into their own building. Hopefully, the added space will allow them to improve their efficiency and increase their overall capacity to release new titles. Maybe it will lead them to license even more titles than they already are.

It's not surprising, considering the billion they've earned from Dragonball - Actually it is surprising, seeing as how they haven't done much expanding. Anyway, that's pretty good news. I'm a huge fan of FUNimation, and the voice actors, and I'm glad they're moving forward with their business. Although, FUNimation's full of corporate pricks.

What Texas doesn't take away in income taxes, it takes away in sales tax. So FUNi makes more money, but those buying merchandise out of Texas lose more. Haha.
But anyway, it's great to hear FUNi's expanding. I'm really proud of all of the improvements they've made in the last several years.

The price of goods would be less if you removed the imbedded national income taxes corporations pass on to customers.

Does this mean Funimation will be hiring in the future to fill that space?

Yes there building a new building to have a Voice Actor training room build. That way they can homebrew all their own talent that will work for nothing. Seriously I wonder if there going to be filling that office up, or perhaps it's more where house space to holds titles they currently have.
