I had the privledge of listening to the first Death Note OST the other day and it was surprisingly good. I'm not one to pick up on BGM that much, so I only really noticed the over the top operatic music, OP and ED while watching the show.

The more electro-rock tracks that Taniuchi composed sounded nice, and had potential to become good proper songs (4+ mins, lyrics and such).

So I ask, is Taniuchi Hideki in a band, or has he composed songs outside of BGM for anime? I didn't have much luck on Google, Wikepedia or Last FM.
