Kyoto Animation, the studio responsible for Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu and Second Raid, is still a relatively small (but popular) studio notorious for working on only one series at a time. Right now, they've got a 24 episode series, Lucky Star, to begin running next week. After that they've already announced plans to work on an adaptation of Clannad next. No word yet on another season of Full Metal Panic, but the FMP fans must wait in line along with those clammoring for another season of Haruhi Suzumiya or an adaptation of Planetarian.

Keep in mind, though, that it took 2 years for them to come out with The Second Raid after Fumoffu. Considering the stunning production quality and superb directing of the few shows they've produced so far, I don't really mind the wait. I will also say, though, that the Full Metal Panic series is originally a novel series, and that there's definitely enough new material out for another season of the anime. Then again, the same can be said of Haruhi Suzumiya and Key/Visual Arts.

Heh, I guess this is the bad thing about holding so many popular franchises.

As of now, there are no plans. If Kyoto Ani. decides to make more, I'm sure ANN will post an announcement. But until then, mere speculation is pointless. Just be happy with what's already out.
