Information for The Colors Within is incorrect. It's Nagasaki City not Nagano City and Sasebo is also in Nagasaki Prefecture rather than Nagano Prefecture. Also for Shoushimin it's Gifu City specifically not the prefecture at large, though naturally the former is in the latter. Didn't check the others because they didn't immediately appear questionable to me, but might want to give the whole lot a look-over.

It would be good if an update is posted to the ANN news page when English translations become available.

I love Natsume Yūjin-Chō series but did not know it was in Kuma district where I lived for three years back in later 70s.

Were the shows that flopped in or not even given official distribution to the primary English language market more popular in Japan? Or did pretty much everything set in contemporary Japan get a mention?

In particular, Girls Band Cry and its Togenashi Togeari rock band are crazy successful in Japan, China and Asia in general, even though the franchise failed to break through in USA and Europe (partly due to lack of Crunchyroll presence until November, but mostly because the "unbusinesslike" personality of the MC, vocalist Iseri Nina, whom most western viewers find unbearable. Many use way stronger words to describe their opinion of Nina and drop the show after 1-2 episodes.)

I never understood why that series wasn't licensed from the start.

Nina Rocks! (literally and figuratively). Not sure I would want to know people who hate her, heck even Tomo kind of likes her.
My only complaint is no Season 2 announcement.

Japanese folks themselves often make pilgrimages to these holy sites so I would not say any foreign market's success is particularly necessary. And even if a show did not do well it can still work as advertisement.
