Oh wow, this is really neat to see. I mean this makes sense since that there is a such thing called comic book therapy (yes, it's real and it does exist).
That's a different contrast compared to decades ago when not only comic books/graphic novels were vilified, they (as in the "experts" at that time) thought that comic books weren't "real books". Yeah, so you're telling me that Twilight or The Hunger Games are more real worthy when it comes to storyline then let say Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, or Batman: The Long Halloween or even X-Men: Gods love, Man Kills. I even find shojo manga that are written better in term of storyline then a generic love novel. So yeah, don't ever underestimate the power of graphic novels/comic, they can be very handy in term of storyline, and the artwork as visual aid. Yep, we came a long way from Seduction of the Innocent to being geeky/nerdy stuff to using manga and graphic novels in form of therapy and teaching. |
