This seems like a movie I had to have watched as a child, but I don't remember it at all. That's a hell of a voice cast though.

I had no idea that this was animated by a Japanese studio! Wow.

Very neat to learn that. I especially love the intro and its clear influence by Renaissance tapestries. But the artstyle all throughout is cute.

I watched The Last Unicorn for the first time a little while ago, and my first reaction was "That's a very anime-looking horse." spoiler[And her human form could've stepped right off the old Galaxy Express 999, ] so I wasn't too surprised to learn that the film had been animated in Japan. Good movie, I'll try to read the novel some time soon since I hear it's slightly different.

I love this movie and the book is among one of my favourites, so I'll probably look into getting this at some point.

The original book is very good in its own right, and it does have a few extra plot points and some songs/poems that the movie leaves out. Though the movie is still pretty faithful for the most part since the original author, Peter S. Beagle, wrote the script himself.

Ehhh, I'm not a big fan of this movie. But it's nice that it's getting the HD BR treatment.

I enjoyed the book and rewatched the movie. Had some repressed trauma about the red bull Laughing and the skeleton drinking wine. It’s a weird movie to have shown to a 5 year old back in 1994
