The staff for the upcoming Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Hen (Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc, or literally, Kinnikuman Perfect Chо̄jin/Superhuman Origin Arc) anime revealed on Wednesday seven new cast members, visual, story, and July 7 premiere for episode 0, which recaps older scenes with new animation. The series will also begin streaming on Netflix on July 8.

Netflix US or just Netflix Japan?

Dranzer: This hopefully means Netflix USA, and isn't like the Amazon Prime bs with Godzilla Minus One.

Hmm, it’s a long shot, but it’d be nice if Netflix could also stream previous Kinnikuman anime to help promote the new one.

My dream would be if they gave it the full Saint Seiya treatment, not only finally giving it a full English sub but also going in and giving the original an English dub using the cast of the modern series (if this is going to Netflix, we are at least getting a dub of the new show.)

Though yeah, between the Nazi imagery, the various cultural stereotypes, and at least one instance of Kinnikuman himself explicitly wearing blackface, it's always been a pipe dream getting the original Kinnikuman an official release here in any form. Not even Discotek has touched the franchise aside from the 4Kids dub of Nisei.

Old Kinnikuman is a little too problematic in its character design to work in front of a western audience.

I assume this will get the same treatment Dungeon Meshi is getting. Netflix US with weekly streaming and a possible simuldub.

Roots Island was actually skipped in the anime. They repurposed some monster designs from it into one of the movies, but the arc itself wasn't adapted.

Brocken Jr. (& Brockenman, by proxy) has ALWAYS been "Not a Nazi" in the anime, as even by the 80s showing the Swastika casually like that wasn't going to fly on children's TV in Japan, so that was never going to be a problem.

Even in the anime, Brocken Jr casually wore a t-shirt with the Nazi flag on it when out of costume, so I don't think it was actually that taboo on Japanese children's TV in the 80s.
