This year is the 10th anniversary of the Midwest's largest anime convention, Anime Central (lovingly known as ACen). This year boasts to be the largest shindig for the con as many are slated to make a special trek for the anniversary!
2007 boasts a host of fun events old and new as with the return of Masquerade, Masquerade Ball, Soap Bubble, Underground Groove and featuring the 10th Annual Ice Cream Social, Magical Girl Competion and ACEN Idol. Many more events are to be planned for the Chicagoland festival. This year there will be cosplay, music and glomping madness! How do I know? Because ACen's con-goers are the best attendees around! So, we expect nothing short of spectacular for our convention, we expect to out do all other conventions! ACen along with it's 10th anniversary will be welcomed back by a newly renovated Hyatt Regency Hotel O'Hare. After a 6 month hiatus ACen's con-goers will be among the first to explore and experience what new amenities the newly restructured hotel has to offer. It's one thing for sure, no matter if things change or whether they stay the same this years ACen attendees will definitely bring the house down! Anime Central will also have artist alley, an exhibition hall, a dealer's room in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in conjuction with the Hyatt. There will be a gaming room catering to both the hottest and latest in video and tabletop gaming. Acen is also for everyone in the family as they have fun events for adults that span throughout the day, evening and the night and an exstensive children's program that takes place during day and evening hours. Acen is also a 24-hour con. That has various events and happenings that last throughout the night. So, if you should happen to think that sleep is for the weak we have stuff just for you!
