I think everyone saw this coming, based on comments on threads for previously axed titles.
I read the first chapter and was like oh cool a female protag but no, it was a dude.

I wanted to like this series, as the idea of a historical boxing manga is pretty cool. But aside from some really striking images showing the bombing of the city in the first chapter, it doesn't really do anything with the historical setting. Instead it mostly takes place in a fictional underground boxing world that's so over the top and simplistic that it could be happening in any time period, with characters and plots that felt heavily generic.
It's too bad, this was a cool idea but the execution was dismal. I hope Kirarazaka gets another shot at Jump, though.

Yup. Also, when WSJ released another sport-martial arts manga (MMA - Asumi Kakeru), it took its niche for sport-action series; Blue Box got the sport-romance slot and there is no chance for any series.
At least his art improved a LOT, probably for working as an assistant for Yusei Matsui after Bone Collection, if what they say it's true.

Definitely agree on the dismal execution. I dropped the series three chapters in, it was just unbearable. Asumi is pretty damn good, on the other hand.
