Honey and Clover is one of those stories I really enjoyed, but I know I'm never going to experience it again. I think it's been at least 10 years since I finished the anime.

I had a very similar experience. I was about the same age as the characters when I saw Honey and Clover for the first time and I absolutely loved it and have cherished it ever since. To this day I can watch that chase scene from episode one that’s set to Hatchimitsu all day. Yet I’ve never been able to bring myself to rewatch it in its entirety.
At the same time I’m here impatiently waiting for March Comes In Like A Lion S3. Lol

I can actually feel that in the series itself.

Honey and Clover is up there as one of those series that really encapsulates college life. That weird period where you’re legally an adult but you still feel young. It’s a weird transitional age that I believe is universally shared. You’re supposed to enjoy your youth but in no time, you’re expected to grow up and commit to being a working adult.
It’s similar to Genshiken for me. Especially when certain characters do get a job and you see them hanging out less and less. That’s relatable to anyone with a college-friend group.
Admittedly I saw Honey and Clover when I was a kid and thought it was just another shoujo manga.
It wasn’t until I was an adult and gave it a rewatch when I really valued the stories it was telling.
TL;DR- I hope the mangaka continues to be proud of her work. It’s amazing.

Honey and Clover is one of my all time favorite manga. I read it in the much-missed North American Shojo Beat print magazine. Sigh.

Now if only Viz would reprint it so I don't have to pay an astromonical price to own it.
