Who are all those people?
I can guess Richter, young Maria and probably Shaft(was he even a vampire). Those who know nothing of the games would probably enjoy it, but I dropped the cartoon in the middle of season 2 and looks like I won't be returning |

Now THIS is how an animated dark fantasy series should look like. Oh, boy, and this is coming just 1 month before Pluto. Netflix sure is gonna finish the year with a bang... and I couldn't be happier for that

Animation looks gorgeous.
Story, well, Rondo didn't have much of a story, but this won't even have that much. No Dracula. |

To be fair, you could probably write the entire script of Castlevania III on a single piece of paper, but they managed to make four seasons out of it. I doubt they're going to let themselves be limited by threadbare source material. |

Huge Castlevania fan, but couldn't get into the original Netflix series. Was hoping this would be different, but it just doesn't feel right. Feels like a Hollywood adaptation again. Not for me. That said, it's well done for what it is and I think it will be really big with those who don't have familiarity with the source material.

Pretty much; even the most "story-focused" titles have been narratively thin because that wasn't the point of them. That's actually why I find the Netflix adaptation to be interesting because they injected plot into a very gameplay-focused franchise. Anyway, looking good. French Revolution with vampires sounds great and the cast has some great actors like Zahn McClarnon, Thuso Mbedu, Nastassja Kinski (the daughter of Klaus Kinski), and Franka Potente |

There's two blonde girls, one looks a little older and has different hair, I think that's Annette.
I don't think this is even adapting Rondo, I think this is setting up Rondo for the season after it. |

OCs and characters who are based on game characters in name only. In other word, same as the first series. Aimed at people who aren't fans of the games.
Annette is the black woman in the trailer according to the casting call and description. She's now a Caribbean slave who escaped imprisonment. |

Annette was such a non-entity that she didn't get a single mention in Symphony of the Night (not that Alucard would have any reason to know who she was, nor was Maria in a situation where she would need to bring it up). Apparently, in the original Rondo she was just a random girlfriend, and the SNES version made her more important to the plot by making her Maria's sister, which is...obviously not the case here.
That being said, I don't think this Annette will be involved with Richter romantically. |

I don't expect accuracy out of Netflix adaptions and this looks like it has zero to do with Castlevania outside the title, but you'd think they'd want to throw in some iconic music for the trailer. Bloody Tears would have been perfect and at least been pretty exciting.

So, did you just not watch the original series, or...? It was clearly made by passionate people, and adaptations aren't just supposed to be "accurate" to begin with. |
