Happy New Year everybody! Pokémon has been on the no. 1 spot for six weeks now, all games on the Top 10 are Switch games while in the Top 30 there's only 3 PS games and Crisis Core on Switch had a better second week compared to the PS' versions. In terms of annual hardware sales in Japan the Switch has 89.6% of the marketshare and in terms of software Nintendo and the Pokemon Co has sold over 16,459,312 games (70.4% of the marketshare).
PS5's sales are interesting, while its sales numbers aren't as large as Nintendo's they're pretty solid but the software attach rate is abysmal, it's like nobody is buying PS5 games. This could mean that most of the people who are buying PS5s are still scalpers who then resell them internationally

Nintendo's next console doesn't need to reinvent the wheel.
A Switch 2 with backwards compatibility, more powerful hardware and 4K docked will do the trick. The software sales are already there.[/quote]

Just hope Nintendo will announce something about a Switch successor this year. I tend to lurk in some forums that talk about rumors and speculations and it seems like this hypothetical new console will be powerful enough to run some downgraded next-gen games, seeing how many third-parties have made some impressive ports but very few original titles for the Switch I just hope that the Switch's successor can have great game support on day 1

Well with the fact that a number of PS5 games are also PS4 games that’s one likely factor.
Though with many (though not all) PS5 digital & some physical games being sold with codes or access to from their PS4 versions or vice versa is kinda weird.

Better 2nd week if you are rooting for the Switch version. Weird of you to not mention that PS outsold Switch 15k to 12k in this weeks charts. PS has sold 123k on less than 11 million user base compared to 61k from Switch on 27 million user base. That's below 50% of PS sales and absolutely not a good look for Switch due to its 27 million user base. Individually, the Switch version should be selling better because of its 27 million user base, hence why Square Enix gave it the most stock. Square Enix can also see that the Switch version is severely behind PS. And its not like anyone can say its unfair to combine them because they are the same console with a split consumer base since consumers can choose to get the PS5 version or play it safe by getting the PS4 version then upgrade when they transition to PS5 (and we all know its been hard to buy a PS5 until this month) and the Switch has a 27 million user base and is the best selling hardware in Japan. It doesn't matter which PS version the consumer gets. CCFF7R had a better 2nd week on PS.
