I still remember when Pacific Rim came out and how Del Toro gave some interviews in Japan about the anime and kaiju movies that inspired the film, like Gundam and Godzilla, although many in the West said the movie copied Evangelion, which I always thought was a dumb complaint because there are more mecha shows than just Eva. I believe Del Toro also expressed his admiration for Ghibli films such as Totoro in an interview, that was pretty cool.
Speaking about Wolfahrd, I didn't know he had a brother who is a voice actor. It's nice to hear that Finn likes Death Note. Regarding Chainsaw Man, by sheer coincidence the dub actor who voices Wolfhard's character in Pinocchio, Candlewick, in the movie's Neutral Spanish dub is Emilio Treviño who voices Denji in Chainsaw Man. And speaking about dubbing, Del Toro worked as a dub voice actor in the Latin American dub for the 2001 version of Planet of the Apes voicing Tim Roth's character, which was pretty weird since the movie was dubbed in a relatively small studio and he wasn't billed as a celebrity guest, it seems he just happened to be there at the recording studio at that time

Last time I talked to GDT, he said he had a sealed copy of the ADV Eva he hadn't seen.

Wolfhard is one hella cool surname.
Still nothing compared to Schwarzenegger though.

I'd love to see a live reaction supercut of these two (or even just del Toro) watching the first two episodes of Chainsaw Man, I think del Toro would dig the character designs and visuals.
