AmaLee is playing Uta (which makes a lot of sense) but not doing the songs, though I wonder if she'll do covers of them.

A lot more people than you think. Also I'm one of those people that watch it both subbed and dubbed.

They wouldn't continue to dub it for 15+ years if nobody watched it. Many are very happy with FUNimation's uncut dub which saved the show in the US, 4Kids was ruining it before then. Just because you don't care about the dub doesn't mean its not important to others.

And this weekend's New York Comic Con is about to have an One Piece panel on the big stage with the main English voice actors

Tbh I'm kinda relieved they aren't dubbing the songs. One Piece has a solid track record dubbing in-universe songs, Brook's numbers and the songs throughout WCI especially so. But Ado is such a powerhouse vocalist and dubbing six+ highly produced pop numbers is a whole different ballpark than the more theatrical/casual group sea shanty-type tunes in the show. Frankly, I don't think there's anyone either in their roster or they've worked with before who could have nailed it unless they went for dual casting and hired a singer first and foremost alongside a voice actor.
Normally I would have assumed they wouldn't right off the bat with how much Ado has been involved in the film's promotion, but the French dub doing so made me more unsure.
