Question is there enough material left for a season 3? Is this still on going in Japan?

It depends, since the anime is an adaptation of the manga, which itself is an adaptation of the light novel, which itself is an adaptation of the web novel. The manga is still ongoing, and still has a good bit to go before it ends. Also, they skipped over quite a lot of material. So there is definitely enough material, but as for when it gets tuned into anime form it all depends on how they decide go about it.

Do you maybe know if the web novel version of the story is worth reading? (Not sure if an English fan-made translation of it even exists, though...)

At the end of the last season, there was an army of ogres; where did all these other ogres come from if the ogre village the kishin came from was destroyed? And what makes this ogre survivor so special if there's apparently hundreds of ogres now living in or around Rimurur City?

Goblins->Hobgoblins->Ogres->Kirins

That's the evolutive tree of Globlins, thus, a group of Hobgoblins evolved into Ogres as result of Rimuru evolving into True Demon Lord.

No its not. Yes there's a fan translation but you're still better off reading the light novel. IMO that should be the rule of thumb when it comes to light novel vs web novel in general and not just for this.

I see, thank you. I was asking since I'm reading the web novel version of Re: ZERO and enjoying it a lot (I'm at the begging of the second story arc). It's more detailed and written more freely than the LN version, at least for these arcs, and it's interesting to see how the story was later edited in the LN version (which I like as well). I thought it may be the same for Tensura.

Ill just say that the LN version has a lot of changes. I assume you've seen the anime so if you remember Charybdis in season 1, it was added in the LN and wasn't present in the WN. Some of the changes were minor while others were major and the writing quality is certainly different. Not a fan of the excessive info dumps, narration and exposition though.

I see, thanks for the further info! I like analyzing the differences between WB and LN versions of stories I like, and then comparing them to the anime version (I already watched all the Tensura available seasons), so I'll probably end up reading both. ^^
