First the anime film from the 90s, then the 3d anime film Blood Vengeance and now this.

It seems like they're trying to go for a "CG that looks 2D" style for this, but it looks kind of weird.
This will also be the first time something Tekken's been dubbed in a while so I'm curious what the voice cast looks like.

I'm surprised to see Leroy Smith in the trailer since he was introduced in Tekken 7.
I hope they show a flashback between Jun and Kazuya, Jin's parents, and how they hook up.

Seeing as the plot of the games revolves mainly around the Kazama family, there's no helping they'd choose Jin for protagonist. But remembering the cutscenes throughout the franchise there's so many characters with a lot more colorful pasts that'd make great, and lot less boring(read safe), stories...

I mean it's Tekken, ignoring all the way more interesting characters in favor of Mishima/Kazama family drama is par for the course since basically Tekken 5.

Awesome. Jun needs more spotlight since she only appeared in two Tekken games’ canon plot. We barely know about her and the Kazama clan. Hope they’ll also show us Jin’s cousin Asuka and her father (Jun’s brother).

This is what I was talking about the other day when it comes to cash Netflix can throw. Toonami puts their eggs in an FLCL sequel, Netflix makes a full adaptation of Tekken 3.
Looks better than that one shot OVA from way back when.

I will certainly give credit to the people of Tekken for wanting the story of the franchise to be more than just a random excuse for characters to fight each other, but why is Jin the protagonist?
Jin is, for the lack of a better term, a bastard. The story of the games prove he is not hero material. Sure, the anime advertises itself as the story of a dark hero, but considering what we learn about Jin in later games, I don't think that premise can be sustained in the long run.

To be fair that is a VERY low bar to clear. I mean that OVA made the Battle Arena Toshinden OVA look good by comparison, and that's saying something.

I'd rather they focus on the guy with the tiger head. Or the guy whose name just happens to be Tiger but somehow not the same guy.

It's about time Tekken got an anime series. The animation actually looks pretty good.
