Yeah, the movie was okay but not great. It looked really pretty, but it was clearly a vehicle for the seiyu's/singers group. The main girl's voice acting was a bit stiff. I liked some of the other parts, like the short haired friend and the bitchy glasses girl (though she was kind of annoying) had a fitting voice. I'd be happy to hear a few of the voice actors in other works in future, and hear them improve and branch out. They're also good singers, that final song was quite nice.
The ending was super predictable but I suppose it had to end that way. Didn't stop me from rolling my eyes though. It had potential and was kind of charming but ultimately it kind of felt like a cash-in on the trend of movies getting popular lately (the fact the name is like a combination of Your Name and A Silent Voice made me laugh), and just a vehicle for plugging the voice actors unit. A shame really. |

"Genuine heart", "C" grade. I guess inconsistency that's to be expected when one is asked to watch a film days after its release and say "it's bad, don't watch it" so that there's no more discussion on things once the BDs are out
@harminia Wow, aren't you a big expert? By the way, this movie was not okay, it was great, so instead of agreeing with Morrissey's incomplete and biased review, you'd do better to read this review instead and give that reviewer much-deserved agreement. |
