Yeah, the Rebuild movies kind of feel like they're missing an entire movie.

There was one of the Khara shorts in their 'Animator Expo' series which was basically "What if K-On but in the Evangelion universe" with the school light music club facing the difficulties of living in a city forever under attack.
I thought at the time I'd quite like to see that concept built on.

If the story is well told then I wouldn't be against seeing more of Eva's world explored in animated form.

I still hope we can get an anime adaptation of Evangelion ANIMA with new character designs until this day.

I'd kill for an anime adaptation of Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's take on Eva from the manga series he made for it.

Honestly, after this release I think I'll be completely finished with Eva forever after. In fact, if I quit anime completely after the last movie, I would complete the true circle of this hobby; beginning with Eva and ending with Eva.

Something tells me the Evangelion universe could get expanded with those untold stories in mind.

Untold stories that will never get told. Ever. Because Anno is lazy.

If the recent film is a true end to Evangelion it should be left well alone by him forever. If other creators want to make spin-offs that's fine though as they're have been plenty of those to date.

So Anno could go another 20 years producing Evangelion stuff instead of creating something new, something original....cool.

I too would love to see the Anima light novels animated. I also think that a slice of life anime series set in the same universe depicted in episode 26 of the anime series would be cool.

Don't know if we really need it but I guess a series of side stories about the side characters during the gap or the period where kaji sacrifices himself or the time Shinji, Asuka and Rei spend in the village after/during Shinji's recovery would be nice. THough probably best in a manga format by Sadamoto if he needs work.
Loved the finale! But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't dissapointed in the shipping department considering Rei and Asuka both lost??? Annnnnnoooooo!!!!
